WELCOME BACK – SHENLEY LEISURE CENTRE REOPENS

Following the recent government announcement that Gyms and Leisure Centre’s are able to reopen, we are pleased to confirm that as of Today, Wednesday 2nd December 2020 Shenley Leisure Centre is open and welcomes back our members, loyal users and local community.
Unfortunately, our Bar & Café – The Sportsmen’s Rest will remain closed under Tier 2
Everyone’s safety is our top priority. In line with government and industry guidance, we have established several measures and we have made a number of changes to ensure that our Centre is a safe place for everyone.
Whilst we are operating in Tier 2 there are some extra measures in place in order to play Badminton, Squash and Table Tennis which we are following in line with each sporting body. Please see the following links for more information:
Along with these measures we also have:
- A continuous cleaning regime across the Centre, throughout the day.
- Sanatising stations located throughout the Centre.
- A one-way path in our Foyer/Reception area.
- Pre-booked and paid facility.
- Reduced numbers in classes and fitness room with some equipment temporarily unavailable to allow everyone to work-out safely.
- A revised class timetable and separate exit in our Aerobic Studio to ensure customers can exit and enter safely.
- All Areas are cleaned and sanitised in between use
- Some facilities will be limited or unavailable initially.
- Please ensure that you adhere to Social Distancing Guidelines throughout your visit and are considerate to other users.
- Informed staff of operating procedures and signage for customers.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE – NOVEMBER LOCKDOWN
On Saturday 31st October 2020 the Prime Minister announced that all non-essential businesses should close from Thursday 5th November 2020. As a Leisure facility this means we too will be closing our doors, re-opening on Wednesday 2nd December 2020. Please note the following:
For those of you who have just recently paid November’s Membership Direct Debit, we apologise, but due to the late announcement of lockdown we were unable to freeze your membership for the month of November. We will ensure that you are given a Free Month when we re-open. Please do not cancel your Direct Debit. Should you have any queries relating to your membership, please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org. Emails will be monitored and responded to on a daily basis between Monday and Friday
ADVANCE PAID BOOKINGS
For those of you who have advanced paid bookings between Thursday 5th November 2020 and Tuesday 1st December 2020 we will credit you and you can rebook when we reopen. Should you have any queries relating to your bookings, please email us on email@example.com. Emails will be monitored and responded to on a daily basis between Monday and Friday

Introducing our new Direct Debit Package. Only £15.00 per month*. Even better, the first month is half price, Only £7.50* so you can Work Out to Help Out.
Shenley Leisure Centre is open; 9.30-22.30 Monday to Friday, Saturday 9.00-22.30 and Sunday 10.30-21.30.
Work out to help out and you can have access to unlimited classes and the fitness room plus discounted Squash, Badminton and Table Tennis.
There is also limited Room Hire (dance/martial arts practice) and our 3G astro-turf pitch is available to book.
Pre-booking and payment in advance is essential to guarantee your activity.
There will be of course some adjustments we require our customers to become familiar with and extra sanatiser stations and enhanced cleaning protocols have been implemented.

FACE MASKS; It is now encouraged and recommended that all customers wear face coverings/masks throughout their visit to our leisure centre, except during physical exercise or whilst eating or drinking. We ask that you wear your face covering/mask when entering the building, in reception, corridors and stairways, when entering and leaving studios and the gym, however you can remove it whilst exercising or drinking. If you have a medical condition which restricts you from wearing a covering, please let a member of the team know.
Since the government has announced that social gatherings in England will be restricted to no more than six people from 14 September, we are pleased to be able to reassure you that our facilities are not affected and can continue operating as they are now. Due to the safety measures we have put in place.
TEST and TRACE; In order to comply with Government regulations there are NHS contact tracing QR codes that can be scanned when you visit the centre and bar.
A new direct debit package is coming very soon and will be even better value with work out to help out. Please call 01908 502488 for further details.
We wanted to let all our Shenley Leisure Centre Members and Block Bookers know that we have frozen ALL Direct Debits until further notice.
We ask that you to remain with us and not cancel so that you avoid any renewal transaction costs when you return to enjoy our facilities, classes, activities and gym, hopefully in the not too distant future.
We would like to thank our members, guests and visitors for all your support during the lockdown. Please continue to stay safe and follow our guidelines which we get from the government and relevant sporting bodies. During this testing time try and stay active within the Government social distancing guidelines:
- Physical activity and exercise can help boost immune function.
- Exercise lowers stress levels.
- Physical activity is good for metabolic health.
- Exercise maintains mental health and wellness
What you can do to protect yourself and keep active:
- Wash your hands with hot soapy water for at least 20 seconds.
- Practising good hand hygiene is the best way to prevent yourself from contracting Coronavirus. Keep your hands away from your mouth, eyes and nose.
- Keep hydrated.
- If you are unwell or have been instructed to self-isolate you should exercise advisedly.
