Quiz Team representing The Sportsmans Rest make it on to BBC Eggheads
A team from Bletchley Park recently successfully took on the mighty Eggheads and came away with the jackpot. On Monday 17 October, a second team from Milton Keynes will be seen at 6pm on BBC2 taking on, in Jeremy Vine’s words ‘probably the most formidable quiz team in the world’
Shenley 24, based at the Shenley Leisure Centre, travelled to Glasgow in August to tackle the supreme quizzers.
The Shenley team was composed of players and organisers of the regular Monday evening quizzes held in the Sportsmans Rest, the leisure centre bar.
The photograph shows the Eggheads team standing at the back, from left to right; Lisa, Dave, Steve, Pat, Jeremy Vine, and Beth. In the front the Shenley 24 team. From the left; Kathy Craig (reserve), David Hall, Sid Hewitt, Sue Healey, John Carlisle and Alan Petrie.
The name Shenley 24 was chosen because the quiz nights have been running regularly at the Centre for 24 years and have raised well over £150,000 for local clubs and charities.
If you would like to participate in the Shenley quiz programme or to have your charity supported, please contact the Centre on 01908 502488.
